Lens Focal Length Equivalents / by Jake Horn

While picking out lenses to use on my 6x9 format Fotoman camera, I got frustrated trying to convert angles of view and focal lengths back into terms I could relate to (i.e. 35mm). Some sites had conversions for only one format and the people on forums spent too much time squabbling over diagonal vs longest edge conversions.

I decided to pick one conversion method and create my own table. This chart is supposed to be a guide, and a few millimeters difference won't matter if you're trying to get a feel for a lens in a different format. I want to share this with everyone that rummages the net for which Schneider Angulon XL is comparable to their favorite Canon landscape lens.
